By Kelly Lovemonster She’s a fashion inspiration, mastermind behind online clothing store Klub Kid Vintage and a hashtagging sorceress (some of her best works: #LIFEINTHESIMULATION #KILLYERSELFIE #ROBOCUNT #FAGSLIKEUS.) New York City DJ Designer Imposter is a woman with endless talents. 4U Mag was stoked when Imposter agreed to bless our SoundCloud with an exclusive mixtape.
“I wanted to make a mix that was sexy, emo, dark and bass-heavy. Just been freezing here in NYC and thinking of music that kinda makes you wanna dance in your bedroom, maybe even host an afternoon make-out session.”
Imposter has a 20 year DJ herstory that begins with the NY drum ‘n’ bass scene. “I was dating this stupid drum ‘n’ bass/jungle DJ and I was sick of watching him have all the fun,” she remembers. With a list of eclectic DJ muses that range from Spinderella to Ellien Allien and Collette Honey Dijon, Imposter’s sound style is cool, sexy and smooth. “I love music and non-verbal communication,” she says. But don’t just take her word for it, click play already.
